Procedure Description of Sex Reassignment Surgery – Case 1
Overview
This case showcases the typical results of Dr. Chettawut’s non-penile inversion technique for patients with average penile length who have not undergone circumcision. The procedure involves using the whole penile and prepuce skin to form the labia minora, creating a natural-looking result.
Labia Minora Construction
The labia minora is constructed using the entire penile and prepuce skin, forming lip-like folds starting from the clitoral frenulum down to the sides of the vaginal opening. This method ensures a natural appearance and feel.
Vaginal Opening Appearance
In the second picture, where the labia are spread apart, the vaginal opening, created using the non-penile inversion technique, is vertically elongated or has an oval shape. This mimics the natural appearance in a biological woman, avoiding a wide or large hole-like appearance.
Urethral Opening
The urethral opening is anatomically correct in both location and size, ensuring normal urinary function and appearance.
Labia Majora Appearance
The labia majora is proportionate and aesthetically pleasing, with no noticeable scarring. The shape, size, and proportion of the labia majora are well-matched to the patient’s body, providing a harmonious overall appearance.
Post-Operative Results
These 2-month post-op photos depict a positive result with normal to rapid external genital healing. The patient reported no difficulty in performing her vaginal dilation routine and maintained a 6.5-inch vaginal depth, indicating successful surgical outcomes.
Conclusion
This case demonstrates the effectiveness of Dr. Chettawut’s non-penile inversion technique in creating natural-looking and functional female genitalia. The results highlight the importance of skilled surgical techniques in achieving aesthetically pleasing and anatomically correct outcomes for sex reassignment surgery patients.
